BIO
The Full Story
Jullanar Gamboa was born and raised in sunny San Diego CA where she grew up with an affinity for music. When she was five, she often took over her parents CD's and sang to the sounds of George Michael, Kate Bush, and the soundtrack to the musical Chicago.
When she got into high school, she discovered jazz and fell in love. Listening to everything from Sarah Vaughn to Mel Torme to Coltrane, she soon became the singer for her schools jazz band and small jazz combo. She then went on to perform at her local jazz festivals and compete in competitions like the Ocean Beach Jazz Festival, and the Fullerton Jazz Competition. She even went on to participate in the Young Arts program where she spent a week being mentored by some of the most well known artists in the world.
When her high school journey came to an end, she was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston where she was able to learn and grow as a musician in ways that she couldn't have imagined.
After having graduated in 2017 with a degree in Vocal Performance, she made her way to sunny Los Angeles where she has worked on the music and lyrics to the movie soundtrack to the film Whiplash, sung at various venues in L.A., and met and collaborated with amazing musicians.
